I just had a friend in the US buy a slingbox AV for me and hook it up. I had no problem installing the player software on my PC in Thailand to link to the US setup. Now I am able to have some really great TV programming remotely using a DVR in the US. Way better than UBC, especially for the US-centric. I am really tickled. The resolution is fine on the small screen mode, just OK (well, probably less than OK) on the full screen mode. I would not recommend it for watching DVD movies though, the resolution seems to lossy and just not good enough to watch movies (probably a connection speed issue). This is really more about programming choices and convenience than getting the best quality video.

If you have friends or family in the US who have a good cable package, I recommend you try this. I am very pleased! Any other slingbox users living in Thailand with tips/comments?

Oh, looking at the site, I see that slingbox is also in business in Europe and Brazil.

sorry to tell, I come from Europe and all have sat receive (switching the channel) and internet isn't flatrate :o
