Skin exam and treatment

Featured Replies

As usual hospital/dermatologist does not have access to cryosurgery (liquid nitrogen) and several more time sensitive internal cancer removals required have fallen behind on normal actinic keratosis removal we older folks with BCC/SCC need.  Checked with a local hospital and confirmed they had ability to treat with more than laser (not that effective if any cancer) or Aldara cream (which find expensive, hard to use and not very effective).

Arrived hospital at 0930 Friday - registered with passport and phone number/next of kin and at skin center within 5 minutes and with doctor by 1000.  Very fast and simple without a bunch of forms to fill.  As have very high BP at hospitals (162/82) very happy to find doctor working without white coat.  In good English asked issues and did exam from head to foot (and between toes) using magnifying glass and zapped a dozen or so spots on arms/legs/back with LN, and dispensing cheap Retin-A to treat any new places (which aptly described as rice seed feeling).  Total bill was just over 3,000 baht.  First time in 4 dermatologists that full body or scalp checked.  Also reviewed medical history and recorded medications taking.

Is cryosurgery an alternative to the excision of a benign mole or nevus?
