South African applying for 60 day tourist visa

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm currently in Thailand on visa on arrival I'm sitting on 5 stamps at the moment so I don't wanna risk another border hop.

I want to apply for a 60 day tourist visa in Lao, just want to know if I will have trouble getting it in Lao? I've heard that some rules have changed and I'm wondering because I'm from Africa will I be granted a 60 day tourist visa or not?

And where do you think my chances are better to go to in order to receive this visa?

Let me know

Thanks in advance

South Africa is not on the list of restricted countries so you should not have a problem apply for a tourist visa at Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos.

Since you apparently do not have a history of tourist visas that they are looking for is another reason you should not have a problem.

I suggest you be prepared to show proof of the equivalent of at least 20k baht in a bank account in case you are asked to show it.

Edit: To apply in Vientiane you will need an appointment. See: https://thaivisavientiane.com/#
