Travel insurance

Featured Replies

I need travel insurance for myself and my 2 year old kid travelling to Europe next month. I only need about 2 weeks coverage.

Any suggestions which insurance company I should contact?

Thanking you in advance.

Bank web sites. Most of them provide at least 3 different categories of travel insurance through an insurance partner.

Suggest read the T&C for what they provide and exclude.

It may be better to buy an insurance from the country that you are visiting.

If something expensive happens it will be much easier for the hospital to deal with the insurance and get coverage.  Not many European hospitals would contact an insurer in Thailand.

Beware, though,  many of these policies for visitors are not worth the paper they printed on. Try to find out whether this insurance actually ever pays.  Many hardly ever do.

Good point about getting coverage from an insurer there. Thanks.

Agree with @Sheryl on this. I used the a number of times over the years. Decent price with excellent coverage.

I frequently use AIG TravelGuard.  Good coverage and cheap. Can apply and pay online.
