Farang Couple Wanting A Buddhist Wedding Ceremony In Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi All down in sunny Phuket

I've friends back home in England who are wanting to come to Phuket for a traditional Thai wedding ceremony. Anybody able to point me in any good directions towards helping them out with this? Perhaps someone who's already gotten married in Phuket can give me a telephone number of a Wat or Phra who they dealt with (I'm in Chiang Mai so it's kinda tricky for me to get this kinda info). PM me on this if need be.

Cheers

Bananaman

I actually only just noticed how the info I'm looking for is exactly the same as that required by Cessnock in an earlier post. As that thread didn't shed a great deal of light on the subject, my enquiry still stands. Any solid info would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Hi Bananaman

The guy below does the following photo sessions. Check him out. I am unsure if this includes printed photos or just cd/dvd.

2hrs of photography= 10000 baht

4hrs of photography= 12000 baht

Full day = 16000 baht includes island tour....pay your own transport

Do you think its expensive?

Thx Cessnock

Sounds a bit pricey to me to be honest but then I don't really know the going rate so it's hard to be entirely objective.

the full day price is more than a months wage for a decent job for a uni educated thai.

doesn't seem much by wetsren standards but well expensive by thai

edited to add

some nice photo's on the web site though............

Those prices are extortionate for wedding snap imo. I don't have the details to hand but we use a good photo/videographer and he charges ~3000 for stills and ~4000 for dvd video. He supplies a CD full of pics and a nicely packaged dvd if required.

I'll have his number to hand tomorrow when I am in the office, email me if you want it, but he doesn't speak English so you'll need a Thai speaker to call him.

Donna gave good advice in cessnock's thread: the first place to look for organising the monks etc should be the hotel they are planning to use, they will be able to do it. Approximately standard price for a wedding package excluding food and drinks but including monks, flowers, garlands, set-up etc is around 40,000 baht in a nice hotel

Pick you Temple and go from there. I believe you'll still need the civil paper from Phuket City so that you can register you wedding at you Embassy. I know that for Americans you need register at eh Embassy. It is about gtting the document certified. I would, although NEVER getting married, get the document regirstered and certified by you embassy as many many different gov/ private business offices in you home land will need to see the document and clearly it will be much better to have the certificate from you Embassy in BKK.
