Tips on choosing dress for a wedding in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi everyone
A friend of mine has decided to hold a wedding in the city for another two months because of her interest in the nature and attractions of Thailand and especially the city of Chiang Mai. But I haven't traveled to this city yet! What if I go to a wedding? First of all, what is the weather like in this city for the next two months? Second, thank you If you help me choose clothes, what kind of clothes do people in this city usually wear at weddings?

What kind of wedding?  Five star Hotel venue or at a farmer's house in a rural village or what?

Most people find it hot here but depending on where you come from, you might not.

You will be here two months for a wedding?  Seems like a long time for something that takes one day.  What else are you going to do?

The wedding will be hold in two month later, but we should stay there for one week.

I think it will be a luxury wedding! and I come from india. And currently I have this Karen Millen dress but I don't know it's suitable for Chaiang Mai or not?

That dress would be just fine.

You will be great in that dress.  I have seen Indian ladies looking very good in saris at top hotel weddings here too. Hope you enjoy your visit and wedding in Chiang Mai.

Ir is a time-honored custom in northern Thailand for a guest to being an elephant to the wedding: think of the joyous surprise when you turn up with an elephant !

In terms of dress, I suggest you base that on your gender as close to the time of the wedding as possible; if your gender fluctuates, perhaps carry a gym bag with extra outfits.
