Is It Worth The Time To Get Visa At Laos Embassy In Bangkok, Does It Really Save Time And Money?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I want to do a visa run to Vientiane in Laos.

Is it cheaper to get the visa at the embassy, does it save a lot of time?

How long does it take to cross the border without having a visa?

If I print the visa application from the website and show up with the money, pictures and application fully filled out, will it save me a lot of time? My goal is to make it to the embassy before noon...

as I was reading a former Posting about a visa run to laos - they were telling, you can get a visa on Arrival !

Burma has the Option for "visa-on-arrivel" too ....

Hi Vertigo4,

Do you remember what forum that was? I'm aware I can get a visa on arrival but my question is about how long it takes versus having done prior at the embassy.

And no, can't go to Burma because Laos is already booked!

If it's not to inconvient to get the visa here in Bangkok then best to have it before arrival. Most people get the visa on arrival and it can get pretty crowded thus a long wait. If you already have the visa you will get thru much quicker.
