BANGKOK (NNT) - Former Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Advisor of the Chart Pattana Party today expressed his belief that the budget for fiscal year 2020 will stimulate the Thai economy. He suggested that the government accelerate the establishment of stability both inside and outside the parliament to solve the problems of the country and people.

Mr Suwat Liptapanlop, Chief Advisor of the Chart Pattana Party and a Former Deputy Prime Minister, said consideration of the draft Budget Procedure Act B.E.2020 is very important because it involves three trillion baht. When the budget is spent, it will stimulate the country’s economy.

During the global economic recession, he said the Thai economy must be more self-reliant by mainly focusing on domestic investment. He suggested that the government ensure stability both inside and outside the parliament to pass important laws, especially the ones related to budgets and work hard to gain acceptance from the people.

As for the amendments to the constitution proposed by many parties, Mr Suwat said they should be made through the legislative assembly. He expressed his belief that the issue will be discussed at the next general meeting.

He said it would be good if all parties reached a consensus and that it is important to have all parties participate in making a decision especially those of the new generation who play an important role. Politicians have to work carefully in accordance with the situation, he added.

No doubt that Parliament can't afford delay and must reached a consensus and approved the budget in this dire economic times but I hope that all parties will engage in a robust but orderly debate on budget allocations and the government must prepare to explain and provide proper answers especially the allocations for high defense and interior ministries. This lower house budget debate will be critical to see if the coalition and opposition parties break ranks or stay in line. The upper house of paid goons can only watch.

That's some sound advice right there. Wonder where he did copy it from...

Given the state of politics and  Government  around the world  it appears to me  there is  nothing so strange in that reality about the Thai administration. It continues to surprise  me that despite all the disruptions  involved political controversies that the public services manage to  maintain core  functions  while accommodating  the  whims of  disingenuous controllers.
