Region 6 immigration police announced the arrest of three foreigners in two cases in the far south of Thailand.

In the first case a man from Bangladesh was found to be working without a work permit.

He was arrested at a godown in Muang district of Pattani where he was sorting second hand goods that had been imported from Japan.

In the second case two Indians were interviewed by Songkhla immigration about their activities in Hat Yai.

The biometrics system showed that they had previously been blacklisted from Thailand for periods of 3 years and 10 years respectively.

They had changed their names and passports and come back into the kingdom.

All of those arrested will be deported.

So much for Thailand's flailing non-biometric security then !

The biometrics system had nothing to do with it.  The records of their initial entry and any subsequent visa is in the other databases.

This biometrics <deleted> is unbelievable. If you were never in the system how in hell would you be recognized?

Because the biometrics data bank is coupled with the GT 200 data bank.
