YASOTHORN (NNT) - The current flood situation in Yasothorn has begun to return to normal though some low-lying farms are still flooded. Four districts of Ubon Ratchathani are still flooded while the water in major rivers has begun to subside.

 

The riverbank-level water situation in the Chi River passing Yasothorn, Ubon Ratchathani and Roi Et and that in the Mun River passing Ubon Ratchathani have begun to gradually return to normal levels. The Mekong River too, remains at a normal level.

 

A total of 149.31 million baht has been donated via the Prime Minister’s Office’s Coordinating Center for Flood Victims Assistance.

 

On September 20, 2019, a sum of 50,000 baht in compensation was provided to the families of each of the three villagers killed due to flooding in some of the flood-affected provinces. Then on September 24, a sum of 50,000 baht was provided for each of the 29 villagers killed due to flooding in the other provinces.

 

The Prime Minister’s Office’s Committee for the Fund for Flood Victims resolved to provide 50,000 baht in compensation for the funeral of each of the deceased victims, 30,000 baht in assistance funds for the family of each of the deceased victims and 50,000 baht in supplementary payments for each of the deceased victims’ children aged 25 years or under.

 

A maximum of 230,000 baht in compensation was provided for the repair of a house all or 70% of which may have been damaged by flooding and a maximum of 70,000 baht for repair of a house 30% - 70% damaged by flooding and a maximum of 15,000 baht for the repair of a house less than 30 % of which may have been damaged by flooding. In addition, a sum of 5,000 baht was provided in compensation for necessary household utilities of a house entirely or heavily damaged by flooding.
