Britain tells EU: compromise on Brexit or we'll get nasty: Spectator source

For the privileged few, not the many, I suppose.
The odd thing was that soft toilet paper was cheaper and frowned upon as a sign of lower class habits. Not to be confused with back-to-backs with their toilets at the bottom of the back yard. Which reminds me of a joke ...

Really? Nice one.

At one swoop you have managed to insult 17.4 million people.

I am sure that there are many Brexiteers who know as much as, or more than you about economics, finance and international trading than you.

I can understand simple economics but if you wanted aircraft radios fixed, mobile cell phone sites built, installed, integrated into the network I'm your man. Each of us have our own skills but that doesn't mean that we are ignorant or stupid.

For example would you go to an accountant or a financial guru to get your car fixed?

Your problem like many Remainers is that you don't think through or research your subject before you post a reply.

It's you that have insulted the so called 17.4 million - in having the gall to think you can speak on all their behalfs and that they 'think as one'. Besides which 3 and a half years later many may have died or changed their mind, which the coming referendum will put to the test once and for all.

BTW what's happened to the old canard - ( in angry voice) there were two choices on the ballot paper Remain or Leave it said nothing about a deal.  Maybe we can have a memorial - on some closed down car plant in the Midlands maybe for all the fallen Brexiteers who have gone to great gig in the sky - lit by an eternal flame to be called The Death of Democracy. And every year unrepentant no- dealers can gather on June 15th to celebrate that wonderful day.

Latest from old Nige.......

Varadkar says a new “treaty agreement” is possible by the end of October. We didn’t vote Brexit to leave one EU treaty and sign up to another.

More about keeping the Polish and Romanians out IMHO, I think they're white.

You missed out Hungarians and the coming Albanians / Macedonians who have just got accession status.

That isnt true .

You are making false allegations of racism

Perhaps you have missed them.  There have been countless quite nasty racist and bigotted comments made.  I am not making any false allegations.

brexiteers dont understand simple economics. So they label every negative report as project fear

Indeed.....but they can work out that 92% of UK GDP DOESN’T rely on exports to the EU.

Another one willing to throw the lives of his compatriots under the bus for the "Holy Brexit Grail".  What about the people who do rely on them?  Do they not matter Jip?

Do you really think that there would not be ‘casualties’ with the UK leaving the EU..

Of course there will be. There will also be opportunities that arise and the populous in the UK and the EU has had over 3 years to adapt to that.

I have said before, a German selling to the UK and a Brit selling to Spain can still do after Brexit. How easy, or difficult, that will be will depend on the stance of Tusk/Barnier et al.

Direct your question to them.

I respect your communist stand-point, but I can't quite agree with it.

While I agree with your point, Bill, the highlighted extract is exactly the same as managing to insult up to 16 million people.  Although neither a Remainer or Leaver (in principle) I'm one of those that finds it as insulting. No offence, mate, just pointing that more thought is needed before posting a reply.

AFAIR I haven't insulted any Remainers unless it was in a reply to their post.

I don't see any point in insulting anyone and I try to stay on topic unless it gets too boring when I slip a link to something or other to lighten it up.

yeah, I know what you mean. Just can't wait for the next brexit post where johnson manages to practically secure a deal, following a resolution - perhaps - of the Irish backstop. Media posts on here must run into hundreds now.

Then you suspect wrong. The Lib Dems will never go into a coalition with the Tories given the damage done to their party last time round.

Not disputing it's a valid point but if it was a choice of being in government or not, there is a good chance that memories would fade, and more so if they have a significant number of seats to barter.

At the end of the day it is all going to be about numbers and that is a bit up in the air.

I don't think so.I agree it's difficult predict without knowing the numbers after the (presumably) forthcoming election. But I can see no circumstances regardless of numbers in the H of C under which the Lib Dems would join with the Tories.Remember the Tories have now largely rooted out their One Nation Remainer numbers, so would be even more unacceptable to the Lib Dems.

In the likely event of another hung parliament I can certainly see the Lib Dems, the SNP and Labour (post Corbyn) working together and possibly forming a coalition government.

You haven’t mentioned the Brexit party.

Also consider the possibility of Boris getting a Brexit deal done before any election. What will the Liberals  campaign on then ?

By all means you can choose to become involved or not -that's up to you. But not by denouncing my statements as false - that's a step too far and, whether you like it or not, is a baiting/flaming attitude.

Try this link below for starters. The majority of leavers voted because they 'wanted their country back', which is nonsensical, IMO. The Uk has always been a sovereign state right up today, and is in control over all its borders, UK law, and 98% of its financial expenditures.

Causes of the vote in favour of Brexit - Wikipedia.

Your "statement" quoted 3rd party reports that were without reference. You are being far too dramatic and I don't like it. I am not baiting, flaming, trolling, fishing or chipping.

You know that I disagree with your new sovereignty and border claims but I'm not going through that again for the nth time.
