True that. Most men back there are lulled into thinking that the massively high hurdles they are expected to jump over, are somehow normal. And that the relatively unpleasant, unattractive, unaffectionate, humorless, condescending, and masculine woman they are with is normal. I know guys back there who are not even allowed to carry cash. All their expenses, down to a cup of coffee goes onto the card, so the boss can keep track. And they tolerate that! They think that is living.  

 

I saw that too. A few trips overseas can work wonders, when it comes to extricating one's self from a lifetime of desolation, quiet desperation, and compromise.

Despite all of Thailand's rough bits, The way things have changed back home, I have to say I am very happy to be where I am. That doesn't mean I won't comment and make criticisms here. But the west has descended into madness and it will probably get worse.

People say that a relationship is all about compromise, but it seemed I was the one doing all the compromising. 

I should have left her after the first year, but I stayed because she'd cunningly sold her place ( I did say she should rent it out ), spent all the spare money and had no where else to go with 2 kids ( she worked for a charity and had less money than me ). In the end she got my house, so she did all right.

 

At least in my marriage I never bought a house so she wasn't able to get that off me.

PS. Here's a thought. You know how the Boy Scouts had to let girls in? Wonder what would have happened if a boy had wanted to join the girl scouts?

My school was boys only when I went there, but it has girls now because it has a good reputation. I wonder how many all girl's schools now take boys?
