With a few honourable exceptions (and they were all expensive), most of the average Indian restaurants in Bkk and Pattaya are serving horrible below par food. Even the ones in Pahu Rat, the Indian area.

Excellent piece Rooster. I share your love of Indian food & would love to see more reasonably priced fare available.

Sorry to be picky but isn't your 'aunt's brother' your uncle?

A woman who marries your parent's brother becomes your Auntie. Her brother is not your Uncle.

When is this guy gonna quit the life story!! NOT INTERESTED !

This is supposed to be a review of the News, instead we get 10 paragraphs about YOU, its not all about you, its about the News in Thailand, not a self indulgent walk down memory lane. This is why I dont ever get past the first two paragraphs, I dont wanna know about you mate, I want the news reviewed not your life story. Maybe time for you to put down the virtual pen and get in your rocking chair and reminisce and stop boring people to death with your ramblings.

Thanks, I told Rooster same months ago. I suppose he feels to be on the way to any award probably Noble Prize.

Who wants to read about his life not even reflecting that those coloured are part of exploited colonies. Shame on him. ????

I don't think a cobra is a good or accurate symbol for you mate....perhaps a picture of a pom on a jet? You know, the one about the whine!

Many people from the commonwealth have elected to live in Great Britain and are happy living in the least racist nation in the world.

Rooster refers to the hippy trail that stretched from Sydney to London. I wonder if he or any other intrepid travellers from that time remember the Amir Kabir hotel in Tehran?

You could be happy that they did not kill you as you killed people in your colonies. Though you got the kick in youre <deleted> in Kenya, or India, e.g. those people even being exploited didn't chase you. I wish they would come all to UK just to get their share.

The Empire is just a dark and evil shadow and definetely doesn't suit in modern times. But this is a general problem with UK. They rather like to shrink until they are vanished or occupied by USA. ????

The Marxist drivel and unoriginal vaguely racist comment is typical of modern uneducated youth and citizens of the commonwealth who are guilty about their own race who betrayed them. Its great to have 'Whitey' to blame. Such views are...fueled by hatred and ignorance. The colonies never existed in my time but by and large were a force for good.... certainly the peoples of the colonies did not have the monopoly on suffering. But if you really want to dwell on the iniquities of empires then I suggest you educate yourself to the horrors of the Islamic empire from 900 AD to the 20th century. We left Asia and Africa...the Arab muslims didnt and still occupy Turkey, Afghanistan,  North Africa, Pakistanand so many other countries where they have established the most injust , chaotic corrupt societies in the world. The inhabitants of whom are desperate to live in the west, the UK and the USA.  Sorry you missed your chance!

Wow, it's always good to blame others, isn't it? You learned at least something since living in Thailand. ????

Pot calling the Kettle black. You simply can not bear it when people answer back to your anti white rhetoric and refute your ill informed historical view point. I have never killed anyone. You bluster and lie and try to tie me to things that happened years ago before I was born. I call BS to this racist rubbish. Go get an education. And enough with racist side swipes at Thai people. It fools no one but you.
