Really? So presumably he has spoken out against the multitude of Catholic preists that have sexually abused thousands of little boys in their care. Widely liked? His stunt of lounging across the front benches, like the big tart he is, was widely reviled by his fellow MPs on both sides of the house. As were his comments on Grenfell. But the main and most serious reason for him being reviled is his well known reason for wanting a no deal Brexit. His hedge fund management company has bet against the British economy. If the British economy crashes and burns (as it will with a no deal Brexit) he and his associates stand to make a killing. As do Johnson's associates. He's nothing but an Eton and Oxford educated upper class twit who openly shows nothing but contempt for the ordinary working man and his own country. Here you have the real "traitor". Shame on you for trying to exhalt this brainless slimeball. 2

I still think his comment was taken out of context but it was ill advised at best. In a world of two faced, politically correct, worlds gone mad, politicians, it is nice to have someone who gives his honest heartfelt views. However, unpopular they maybe. I know he has been honest about his religious beliefs. The world, and house of commons, is a lot richer with highly eccentric individuals like Mogg. I don't think his comments were borne of animosity or hatred for those who perished but, rather, disdain and a lack of empathy. I genuinely don't think he is capable of empathising because his background is so removed from the vast majority of the country. He is as incapable of understanding the struggles of the average man in the street as they are incapable of comprehending the life of privilege he has led. So while Mogg may bring some added eccentricity to an already ridiculously anachronistic institution, he has little to no connection to the real world that most have to deal with. We don't need comedy acts in parliament; we need people who understand the challenges faced by the masses, and are capable of dealing with them. The argument that somebody is ‘hardly willing to wish I’ll on anyone’ because they are a Catholic is countered by centuries of evidence to the contrary. The Fire Brigade investigation (and the inquiry) found that the fridge-freeze itself was faulty and caused the fire (nothing to do with an overloaded extension). Its owner called 999 on discovering the fire at 00:54, the first Fire Brigade officers arrived at 00:59 and the fire did not breach the window of his flat until 01:09. So pretty much everything you said about the origins of the fire was wrong. As the inquiry chairman said: Quote “Whatever the origin of the initial fire, the evidence indicates that it was accidental. Mr Kebede, in particular, bears no blame for what occurred in his flat, much less for the catastrophic events that followed. “On the contrary, he did exactly what a responsible person might be expected to do in the circumstances and his presence of mind in switching off the electricity as he left the flat enabled important evidence to be gathered about the origin of the fire.”
