Orthopedic Surgeon Foot & Ankle

Featured Replies

Hello,

A Number of years ago I had a motorbike accident and fractured the Talus bone in my foot, and a pin was placed in it. The fracture has long recovered but the foot is still giving me trouble, i suspect the Pin needs to be removed, and perhaps a clean up of the joints. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the Bangkok area that can do this and wont cost a fortune?

I previously had a medical policy with my employer, however i am now a contractor and my current insurance wont cover the preexisting condition, so ill be paying it out of my own pocket.

Thanks

You of course understand the irony? good doctor but cheap. It does not work this way, Good doctors charge premium prices, then also keep in mind good hospitals have good equipment and medication and also charge premium prices.

You may be able to get an ok doctor to do a surgery in a public hospital, so would be a lot cheaper but then your recovery would be a lot more painful and less comfortable

I had a surgery with this Doc, as you can see from his bio, highly skilled and extremely well educated, if paying cash, you should be able to negotiate but rest assured it will not be cheap. Oh and he speaks fluent English

Dr Pornthep is good, expensive, but maybe not 100% the guy you are looking for.

Google him to learn more about him.

thanks for your reply, I didn’t say cheap, I was thinking along the lines of affordable, ie not Bumrungrad prices.

I’ll have a look at your doctor. Thanks again.

Best foot & ankle doc in the country by far is Prof. Bavornrit of Siriraj,. Trained at Harvard.

In order of increasing expense he can be seen at:

Siriraj public channel - cheapest but long waits/red tape and much will be done by residents under his supervision

Sirirja private wing - can see him directly  http://www3.siphhospital.com/en/medical-services/treatment-center/orthopedic-center

He used to be there on Thursdays but need to call & check
