One of my daughters found this snake in the underwear hung out to dry this morning. I was wondering if anyone recognized it from its colours and pattern.

Trouser Snake?

Not a pant front more likely a Bronzeback.  The head gives more detail but from what I see I would say a Wall's Bronzeback or Painted Bronzeback . Hope it is still alive rather than ' What was this snake before I cut it in half ? '

Golden Tree Snake.

The ones I have come across are not timid at all. We had one a few years ago that had a sense of humour, its favourite trick was to drop out of the tree on top of you. The first couple of times we thought it just had a bad grip up there. But after about the tenth time we figured it must be doing it on purpose.

Yeah, I reckon he's a Golden too.

In both photos, just below the blue strap hanging down, it looks like the lower jaw of the snake and that it's trying to swallow something. Did it have e.g. a lizard in its coils? They don't usually coil in that way unless feeding.

It is not my snake...checked and found my snake safe and secure in my underpants...????
