Manop Kiri-Phuwadol

Following the Constitutional Court's ruling against Future Forward party leader Thanathorn Jungroongruangkit, disqualifying him as a member of parliament for holding shares in a media company, a new face will move up to replace him within seven days in parliament.

Manop Kiri-Phuwadol, the 51st party-list candidate of Future Forward party, will take the place of Thanathornas a MP.

Manop, a member of a Karen hill-tribe community, is a key figure of a ethnic group in the north of Thailand which helps improve the livelihood of ethnic people through higher produce prices and finding plots for farming.

Now that is just ingenious that will chap their little hides. A low level class mountain Karen Hill Tribe person in parliament looking them eye to eye.

I wonder how much respect Manop will command in parliament? This appears to be a huge loss for the nation and the Thai people and a huge gain for the fabulously corrupt and power hungry army. Will it ever end? Will the Thai people ever say enough? Will they ever see a competent administration that can actually lead the nation forward?

Laughable that the country is quite happy to have a convicted heroin dealer and ex con as a minister, and mr fatty with his vastly expensive watch collection still unaccounted for as well as all the other trough feeders- but Thanathorn falls short of their standards for an MP ????

The constitutional court only did as ordered, members were scared that if they ruled in Thanathorns favour their bosses would be displeased, and they themselves would lose their cushy numbers.

Basically you said it in a nutshell. Although I would think they would lose more than cushy numbers as would gather it would be subjected to their entire family.

No.

'Either we run this place or nobody does.'

Another very sad and disappointing day in Thai politics (probably not the right word)

A sad day. So sorry for young Thais especially. They had high hopes for the FFP.

ThaiVisa has cranky old buggers, bar stewards and aliens.

Thai government has over the hill, trough feeding, unqualified generals.

Has Thanathorn no champion?

Woe & alas!

The one thing we can't discuss is the one who is truly behind all of this.
