Throwaway Thailand: Seven kilos of plastic trash even underwear found in dead deer

A Facebook post from an animal preservation group in Phrae in northern Thailand said they had found a dead deer near a national park.

Inside the 200 kilo creature was 7 kilos of largely plastic waste.

A preliminary internal examination found plastic bags, instant coffee sachets, plastic wrappings for instant noodle condiments, plastic gloves, handkerchiefs - there was even a pair of male underpants.

The deer has been handed over to the authorities for a formal autopsy to see if the trash itself was the cause of death or the animal ate something else that was poisonous.

They do but the dogs are clever, they know how to rip open the plastic bag.

Need to teach the dogs to throw the plastic bags in the recycle bin when they are through.

Many of them, especially in Khao Yai national park. Camped there one time & in the morning the deer & monkeys were competing to see who could snatch anything edible.

Are there deer in Thailand?
Species in the family include Sambar deer, muntjac such as the common muntjac or barking deer, Fea's muntjac, Hog deer and Eld's deer. Also there are the closely related Chevrotains or mouse deer which we will include in this gallery. Male deer of all Thai deer species grow and shed new antlers each year.

It was the underpants that did the final deed!

This animal must have had a mental disorder, why would it it eat plastic and garments?

Maybe there is a  Ganga crop somewhere near? Or maybe it ate a dropped  "magic paper" ?
