can anyone recommend a bugalow/hotel beachside for a short stay in Trang ?

Also, what is there worth seeing ?

i would head out to Ko Mook. lovely quiet island with a good beach. you should make sure you get to the emerald cave (tham morakot) as its absolutely stunning. try to go early morning before the hoards get there. if its a public holiday, forget it. too many screaming people there.

There's some nice waterfalls and mountains around Trang to kill a day or two looking at. Hire a motorbike and go for a cruise to the hills, rubber plantations and moslem villages.

Koh Mook is OK, very quiet. (mainly just swimming eating and drinking to be done - well that's what I used to do).

The island beaches are much nicer than the mainland beaches like Pak Meng etc.

agreed. the mainland is good fun to explore. there are some amazing waterfalls, as you say, and isnt there the cave with all the glow worms that you can kayak through? forget its name though.

I heard it was quite good but I've never been.
