PHUKET: Following the arrests of four people for human trafficking and the exploitation of child labour last month for operating a gang of children hawking goods in bars and restaurants, police have revealed that four more children have been found being forced to sell items at late-night venues in Phuket.

Two ex-UDD core members get 4 years for 2009 ASEAN Summit invasion

Thailand’s Supreme Court has upheld the 4 year prison terms, without suspension, handed down by lower courts against two former core members of the red-shirt movement, otherwise known as the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), for their active involvement in the disruption of the ASEAN Summit in April 2009.

All government MPs have been instructed to attend the House meeting today, to make sure that there is a quorum for the meeting to hold a vote recount on the opposition motion proposing the setting up of an ad hoc panel to investigate the impacts of the junta’s pre-election orders and executive orders issued under Section 44 of the interim constitution.
