Hugh Grant has faced-down his trolls by posting his own mugshot on Twitter.

 

The picture from 1995 was taken in a Los Angeles police station after the actor was arrested with a sex worker.

 

Grant has been on the General Election campaign trail supporting a number of prospective parliamentary candidates and advocating tactical voting to prevent a Tory majority.

 

His political activism has attracted a backlash from social media users.

A twit, or a <deleted>, whichever is appropriate. 

I thought it was called Twitter because the ladies found it exciting.
