and that is why in the US, people at the cash register are behind a bullet proof window at gas stations at least

Behind bullet proof glass is a sad reflection of society unfortunately

Jesus, Stupid is as stupid does. I simply do not understand why people rob 711s. A smart person would sit outside the Waldorf Astoria or the Intercontinental and pick off the dozens of high-end escorts that sneak out every single morning around 4 to 5 am when everyone is still sleeping. It’s like clockwork, every single night. These high class escorts ( totally different league than the smooci and bar girl crowd  )  are typically carrying between 100,000 baht to 500,000 baht cash. Most are independent contractors ( meaning no protection / bodyguard ).

Robbery and crime in Thailand are rare at best. You can comfortably drive a motorbike from Bangkok to Phuket with 10 million baht cash in a backpack and you will be just fine. And no, the roads in Thailand are not dangerous like everyone on TV likes to claim. I challenge you to drive from Bangkok to Phuket on a motorcycle. You will be blown away by the excellent conditions of the roads, rest stops every 15 minutes, and very few cars. The roads leading from Bangkok to Phuket are vastly superior to many of our road conditions in the USA and certainly better than the roads I experienced while living in the UK for a few years.

Roadrunner raises that to a six pack of beers. Not worth working in a shop that is open all day and night and risking your life while getting paid peanuts.

i'll raise you, a bottle of whisky from the top shelf. Double or quite,s ?

Yes, an 8ft Python in Bangkok. Perhaps it fancied some junk food from the 7/11, though I swear it looked at me as though I was lunch.

The robber then calmly helps himself to 3,975 baht from the cash register as another staff member appears nonchalantly with a mob to clean the floor.

What an idiot! Instead of the Wai he should have taken the dosh.

He'll be a very lonely robber soon.

He did take the dosh, amazing that the staff were beginning the clean up before the robber left.

I picked up a pack of beer from the seven fridge and as carrying it to the counter the side fall out and one bottle fell to the floor and broke, I got abused as they said my fault.

I said no package faulty, you replace bottle, they said get out don't come back!

Better if I was Thai and stole the beer they would have been cleaning up the broken one and all i had to do was wai to them.
