Rescue services were called to a sweet maker's kitchen after she got her right wrist caught in a mixing machine.

Kewalin, 65, was taken to hospital with her wrist virtually detached with the bones and tendons showing.

She makes Khanom Pia (small buns with egg filling) and Thua Kuan (mung bean cookies) in Muang district of Chonburi.

She seemed to have been mixing ingredients for the latter than the injury occurred.

Her husband Chalit, 55, said she was wearing a long sleeve jacket due to the cold weather and this is what caused her arm to get dragged into the machine.

Sad accident, but also stupid to wear a jacket that creates a hazard when working.

Note: Just hope that they didn´t make anything for sale out of the batch shown in the picture.

Cold weather jacket blamed?... what is it with Thai's blaming everything else but themselves????

The choice to operate machinery without adequate safety is the real blame.

There seems to be some disconnect between their behaviour and consequences. The mother bawling over her injured child, was minutes earlier riding along, using her phone, 3 up on her motorcycle, and sees herself as blameless.

Thais just don't see any danger whatsoever! Plus common sense is very very limited here
