Firefox not connecting

Featured Replies

This morning Firefox worked fine.

Now this evening it won;t connect to any websites, giving a message that it couldn't connect to a server. This is for all site I used earlier, including Google, Sporting Life, Thai Visa, Bangkok Post and a dozen others.

I have cleared the history cache but no difference. I have changed nothing on my pc.

I'm posting this using Chrome, which connects ok - but not to all sites.

So is my problem with firefox, or is it something else ??

My 3bb speedtest shows nearly 800  which is great, our modem seems ok as all the phones and android boxes work ok.

Is the answer to uninstall Firefox, then reload it (I have MozBackup) ?

Or is all this due to the system being overloaded at this time of year.

Another idea is that many sites have expired licences.

I think the same problem happened last year.

Thanks for any advice

Try a VPN, there's lots of free ones. Lantern is quite swift.

I've noticed firefox can crash occasionally and it requires a reboot on one of my computers.

If you've rebooted already then I would suggest looking for malware.

1. Check it's not blocked in your firewall.

2. Disable your addons one at a time to see if it clears it up.

I had the same happen with Firefox recently. Turned out I had inadvertently toggled on the Browsec extension in the Menu Bar which was down at the time.
