When Joan sings, all the birds in the trees stop singing and listen

One of the contemporary classics in American folk music is Pancho and Lefty by the now late, great Townes Van Zandt appearing on his '72 The Late Great Townes Van Zandt LP.  This is a live version of the classic.

I'll have to remember that line, mauGR1.  Good one.

I copied that line, i don't remember where i saw it. Btw, she didn't compose a lot, as far as i know, but "Diamonds and rust" is one of her compositions. Great song.

Yeah, like Richie Havens.  A well known and respected artist in his day but pretty much just a cover artist.  One of the best ever, though, IMHO.

Here's his performance of Here Comes The Sun live at either The Cellar Door or the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium back in '72.

Neil Young's band, Crazy Horse, with Danny Whitten's composition, I Don't Want to Talk About It, off of their '71 eponymous album.

Rod Stewart certainly fared well with his version off of his '75 Atlantic Crossing LP.  A live version . . .

Rod Stewart with the oh-so-pretty chune Mandolin Wind off of his '71 Every Picture Tells a Story LP.

Rod with the title track off of his '70 Gasoline Alley LP.  Perhaps my favourite Rod Stewart album.
