Great to see Tippers back. I thought he had given up but I can see he's made of sterner stuff.

On the short song theme.

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year, bannork.  Hope you and the family were making merry.  Any new presents from Mrs. Santa Claus?  A new bong?  A year's supply of ZigZags?  A few cartons of zip lock baggies?  5555555555555

Been away on holiday (wink, wink).  So of course I wouldn't give up my passion.  Nice picks as usual, bannork.  And I see you've picked up on my theme.  Too bad, I'm going off one of my playlists and there's a lot I'd like to post but unfortunately so much is not available on YT.  Still, there's plenty of material to make do.

Donovan with the pretty tune, Catch The Wind.  The original version off of his '65 debut, What's Bin Did And What's Bin Hid.  I could listen to this all day long.  Would love to sing it to the wifey but 1) I can't sing worth a sh!t and 2) she wouldn't understand the lyrics.

Edit:  BTW, I remember you turning me on to Al Stewart's A Small Fruit Song some time ago.  I've since downloaded it as it's a very pretty song.  You never know when something gets taken down on YT so better safe than sorry.

Start rocking early. The granddaughter, aged 2, loves this.

Her musical taste belies her years, 555555555.  Yer a good grandpappy, bannork.

She can dance to this one:  Great rendition of Ray Charles' What I'd Say by Tony Sheridan & The Beatles off of their '61 Savage Young Beatles LP.

Hey, kinda nice having a thread just for us, bannork.  Now we don't have to listen to all the sh!te those other posters pollute this thread with, 5555555555.  Fancy that!

Off of the Kinks '66 Face To Face LP.

Early Paul Kossoff and Simon Kirke when they were in the Black Cat Bones lineup back in '68.  Sylvester's Blues off of their one and only LP, Barbed Wire Sandwich.  Can't find the individual tune so you'll have to skip to the song via the video description.

The Byrds with Deportee (Plane Wreck At Los Gatos) off of their '69 Ballad Of Easy Rider.  Originally written by Woody Guthrie as a protest song about the January 28, 1948 crash of a plane near Los Gatos Canyon in which 4 Americans and 32 Mexican migrant farm workers lost their lives.  The Mexicans were being deported back to Mexico from California and the media, rather than give the names of the victims, simply referred them as deportees.
