.Farewell then, O Great One. I remember watching this on TOTP in 69. God, we were blessed with so much good music.

Thanks for that information, bannork.  I hadn't heard.  Peter Green was one of my favourite guitarists from that era.  Will have to wait for some tribute posts from me as I'm under water presently.

RIP Peter

Here he is 10 years ago with a couple of his classics .

I saw him live twice on consecutive years back in the late 90's when he performed with the Splinter Group.  I've told the story before but at the 2nd show we were informed that the band would come out after most of the audience had left.  So we hung back and sure enough, there were only about ten people still in the venue and Peter and the band came out to chat with us for about 10 minutes.  But my, how his voice had changed into raspiness in this performance of Oh Well.

Just one for now.  Fleetwood Mac performing Black Magic Woman, written by Green, live at the Boston Tea Party.  Recorded and filmed from one of the shows running from 5–7 February '70.

BTW, those shows were put out as a 3-disc set and I consider them to consist of some of the best quality live recordings of Fleetwood Mac only months before Green's departure.  I'd highly recommend those to anyone who has a deep appreciation of this immensely talented band.
