Tell that to the young boys molested by priests. Some have lifetime psychological issues. Some suicide.

Yet near all the complaints from them were made decades later.

So you’re equating young boys molested by priests with women meeting a Hollywood producer in his hotel room?

I was going to say the same.  Completely different situation.

Seems to me there should be some sort of statute of limitations regarding the time period during which these offences should be reported , with exceptions for more serious cases etc etc .

The dumbest thing about all this is if he was nice about it, and showed a little style, in 90% (app.) of the cases they probably would have given it up.  Hollywood mogul, rich, "hey baby I can make you a star" etc.  Doesn't matter that he wasn't good looking.

It looks like his technique in flirting got frozen when he was 15 years old.  Even absent the rape charges, stories like him beating it into a flower pot in front of the gal who brushed him off, what kind of adult behaves like that? (rhetorical question)

Didn't someone say that it's also a power thing? That implies no physical violence was involved.

The itself is violence, if your self respect, your trust your self worth etc is violated , it is violence, it does not need to be physical.

"Power" by definition (Max Weber) is not the application of violence, only a threat with something evil to make you comply. In this case probably the threat not to sponsor young wannabe-actresses' careers.

Turn it around and you get "if you <deleted> me and then don't sponsor me (lifelong) I'll get you for rape" And that's exactly what the #MeToo movement wants. The Weinstein case is just a test case for them.

I knew Harvey back in the 70s. He was a fat, arrogant, sloppy, nasty, egotistical, self promoting bastarde. I'm not aware of any bad behavior on his part other than his existence, and it takes two to tango, but guilty or not, he is and was an a**hole.

And if those girls decided they are willing to have sex with him to enhance their careers, would that be called rape or prostitution?

It seems lots of those stories are about he inviting girls to his hotel room and then he wants to have sex with them. Obviously that is not nice, but is it a crime? Could the girls have just turned around and leave the room? If they could have left but they stayed then that was their own decision.  I understand that maybe after it, hours or days or years later they think they should not have done that. But that doesn't make it rape, it was still their decision to stay (at least if it happend like that).

Ah, ThaiVisa, you never disappoint...I came here to see the sordid spectacle of feckless douchebags shamelessly defending a rapist, and my clicks were not in vain.

And how do you know he is a rapist? Do you have any insider information you like to share?

Because it seems until now he is an accused rapist and he denies it.

Do you think he should listen to the accusations and possible evidence and defend himself in court?

Or are you one of those people who decide he is guilty because some women and the press have that opinion?

And if you want to quote me then at least read what I wrote. This is the first sentence of my post just below the article.

Now look in a mirror and check if you can find that douchebag.

If he really raped those women then I hope he will be convicted to jail for years.
