Getting Thai passport for child

Featured Replies

I am hoping someone has experience in a similar situation....my maid holds a Burmese passport, on which is included her son, now 3 y.o. She is all wrapped around the axle about getting a thai passport for him (he was born in Thailand) with him still being on her passport. I recall in other countries (& of course that means it probably won’t work here) that a passport would be issued to the child with the mother’s passport still valid for her and changed on expiration.

any idea how she should go about this and what documentation she might require?

I recall in about 1992, when working here, an Australian couple I knew had a child and she was eligible for a thai passport as a result of being born in the country.

Passport office is usually helpful (and fast) near City hall, Unless for some reason she doesnt want to make a formal request...
