Fishing trip tragedy: Two siblings found dead in Chachoengsao

Villagers in Chachoengsao became concerned when two siblings did not return from a fishing trip to a pond on Sunday.

A search was mounted but they only found two pairs of shoes by the pond.

Rescue workers retrieved the bodies of  Pranee, 6, and her brother Rakkaew from the bottom of the pond. They were entangled in fishing line.

Investigators at the Sanamchai Khet police believe one of the children fell in and the other tried to rescue them.

They had been left at home alone by parents who had gone out to work.

They were from the village of Ban Huay Hin in the central Thai province.

Unbelievable............................Oh, wait a mo, I forgot. And at the risk of a bashing, it does happen elsewhere. Just plain ignorance.

They were not 'home alone', their elder sister was there to look after them according to the Bangkok Post but, I suppose, Thai Rath will generate much more indignance and Thai-bashing reporting it the inaccurate version.

very sad tragic accident ......  the poor parents and their other family members must be devastated.

RIP ... poor kids.

So sad, all children should be taught how to swim at the earliest age as it is probably the one most important thing that one can learn.

A very sad case, unfortunately with school holidays nearly upon us this will become a frequently reported tragedy as it is every year.????

RIP little ones.

And you out there, make sure your kids can swim.
