A fierce one hour long storm yesterday evening felled trees and brought power lines down in parts of the north east of Thailand.

In Sri Songkhram district of Nakhon Phanom there was widespread hail that damaged 60 houses. Ten were particularly badly hit in the villages of Ban Sriwernchai and Ban Sampong.

Power was out in several areas.

When the storm was over school children delighted in collecting the ice from the heavens.

The storm also hit Kalasin province.
