Thailand always have 4 million + foreigners. Must check them, some are bad people.

No need for expensive luxury cars when you consider the Police have to buy their own motorcycles !

I am not sure the gov agencies here pay the excessive thai taxes on cars, that's why they are so expensive.

 

But i am really suprised they don't use confiscated supercars for this.

Well i don't care much about all that, but why can't they stop farmer from burning crops this way??? Or just fine everyone on the road who's not driving according traffic laws? Or taxi's which won't use the meter? They can't police anything in Thailand except to foreigners.

Incorrect, they assemble in Rayong.

Even with the discount, the same result could have been achieved by purchasing far less expensive cars, with cheaper running costs etc.

you are pretty much correct - in the west a major component of policing is "prevention and detection" especially when it comes to traffic law enforcement - it doesn't exist in Thailand, they just don't get it or see no value in it and are unwilling to spend the money to actually enforce the laws

 

One thing I could never get my head round while living here all these years, the police set up a checkpoint on the road looking for people say - not wearing a helmet, once they are done they pack up in their trucks and motorbikes and pass by hundreds of people not wearing helmets and do nothing - it's like they just switch off and are no longer policing

you might ask if this is just groundwork, preparing for the announcement of a new contract for a large fleet, hundreds of smart-beemers to be distributed to immigration officials thoughout the country.

 

of course they'll need several dozen smart-benzes to oversee and coordinate the network of smart beemers, plus at least one smart-porsche for each department head to properly network the network.
