UTP - SGN on VietJet Air

Featured Replies

Any one used Thai VietJet Air's recently introduced 'Pattaya-Saigon' flights yet? The flight timing either side of lunch looks pretty good.

A quick search on their website showed a starting price of around 3500 baht r/t which compares very favorably with the same carriers fare for a BKK-SGN r/t of around 5400 baht on my selected, pre- Songkran dates. I have flown with them out of Bangkok and the in-flight service is fine so just wondering if their more local service has any bad points like delays and the like? Getting to/from U-Tapao isn't a problem for me so if there's anything notable about their UTP check-in or security that needs mentioning, that would be handy.

Thanks!

NL

Used it a couple of weeks ago on the outbound only and all smooth and plain sailing.  At that time the plane was only doing this one return flight a day so no real issues with delays but that may have changed now.  We had no queues at check in and had return bookings available which they asked to see.  There is a lounge in departures and a few shops, but it's not a big terminal and I think it could easily get very busy although it wasn't bad whe we were there.

Getting to and from UTP had been my biggest worry but if you're OK for that then all good.
