Common Sense At Last!

Featured Replies

From the Bangkok Post:

Suvarnabhumi airport is preparing to relocate public taxi stands to the second floor of the main airport building, on the same floor as the arrivals terminal, pushing out influential private limousine operators. Suvarnabhumi airport director Serirat Prasutanond said yesterday that taxi stands would move up from the frontal road on the first floor of the passenger terminal to the second floor after the Songkran festival ends on April 17.

You've got to like the new airport director. Amazing how common sense prevails when no backhanders are involved. :o

Common sense? I can only imagine what a nightmare this is going to be. Now instead of just limo services and private cars piled up out front, we will have to deal with all of the hacks and buses. I believe gridlock would be an understatement.

Well it does say that limo and courtesy car services will be relocated down to the first floor but we all know the likelyhood of that happening as AoT are incapable of ridding the airport of illegal limo services now.

He did say that this move is "in line with the original plans" so why weren't these original plans followed. You have two guesses and the second one don't count.

The other night I noticed they moved the greeters farther away from exits B and C, so it is much easier to get through the throng. Having the official taxi queue on the same level (2) as Arrivals rather than on level 1 will make things a bit easier for many travelers. I continue to use level 4 (Departures) for taxis services leaving Suvarnabhumi.
