I've found they prefer whomever they think will give them the most money.

But for sexual gratification, a Korean or Japanese pop star/actor.

kind of a stupid video.  its all about language.  if u cant talk to someone whats the point

What amazes me is when native English speakers all in a sudden speak baby English with everybody.

My Canadian friend: "Tomorrow, I go Bangkok." " I no have", etc.

They start off with Thai men - get knocked up at 16 then abandoned - they have little choice from there

This is the truth of it.  Thai women almost always prefer Thai men as their first love.  But if they get hard done by one (or several), they start to believe that a foreigner might be a viable option.  But by that time, their options are much more limited, i.e., getting older, no financial prospects, single mother, etc.  Similar culture/language is much more important to most Thai women...until they get desperate.

I think the Burger King slogan had it right - "It takes two hands to handle a whopper"

Often when they go out, their boyfriends or husbands have to join. Not an option for them to go solo. For me, sitting around and listening to them jabbering for hours (in Thai) is the epitome of boring.

Could'nt agree more ... My wife can go out with anyone she wants, aslong as I don't have to be there.

Interesting responses on the video, but found the candor of the responses pretty lacking. Mostly politically correct responses, with no strong feelings expressed either way, little mention of financial motivation, sexual chemistry, inter-racial social acceptance, inter-cultural challenges, language barriers. Suspect more candid responses would have been elicited had the cameras not been rolling.

My question is:  Do Thai ladyboys prefer farang  men or Thai men?

Ridiculous question and an even more ridiculous video.

Obviously Thai women in general prefer Thai men due to many factors like culture, language, security, family etc. If I was still living in England then chances are very high my partner would be English.

I have no experience of the bar girl scene, but in my experience here of being around what I would call 'normal Thai women' then there is a good percentage of them nowadays who are very open and interested in things that aren't the same as they're used to. Music, movies, TV, fashion, nights out etc are all very westernised in Thailand now for the younger generation, especially in Bangkok, and this can have an effect on how some (still the minority) normal young Thai women might view potential partners. This is very obvious in the mid 20s - mid 30s normal couples you can see around the likes of Siam / Terminal 21 etc on a weekend, e.g - normal young Thai women (not a bar girl) with normal looking foreign men (not an old sex pest).

My wife is a normal middle class 30 year old Thai woman (nice upbringing, good family, went to university in England etc) and most of her friends are with Thai men. However, one of her friends is married to a French guy and another one (who is stunning) has just start seeing a German guy. Both of them are similar age to me (early 30s) that are living and working here.

Again, this is my view coming from my experiences of being here in my mid 20s - early 30s and will vastly differ from other people's.

I've been with the wife 17 years now and she's a "normal thai woman", but her taste in music and fashion is bloody terrible!

I asked a Thai girl recently and she said she liked farang because of 'Big Banana' and could never go back to a Thai guy. They also say Thais have no interest in satisfying a woman. But when all's said and done most Thais girls will be with the one with the biggest wallet.

Absolutely.  Right before the sex.  But after, it becomes much less interesting.  I blame myself.

Actually the girl in question was educated and had been married to a Dane (and lived in Denmark) for many years. She's now back in Thailand and a business owner.

What about the really old ones who wear baseball caps and turned up jeans. That must do it for them!

People typically answer these types of questions based on their own very limited experience or understanding.  It is very hard to generalize to Thailand as a whole based on these kinds of responses.  Obviously, if you look at marriage rates statistically, the vast majority of Thai women choose Thai men and only a small subgroup venture outside their social and national comfort zone.  Several of the respondents in the video seemed to respond with an honest, it all depends, sort of answer.  The heart tends to like what it likes without a whole lot of logic or rationale involved.

Is that Ning, #44 at Rainbow 3 in NEP  by any chance? She's a right character isn't she?

Western men have it ingrained in them from birth to treat women as equals, and quite rightly so. I have met dozens of Thai women who say that they don't want a Thai man again because of beatings, yaba abuse, cheating etc. - how much of that I believe I don't know, but it does seem that Thai men in general treat women as inferior.

Just now, NanLaew said:

Right...

yes RIGHT I relate it factually and not just her. I have heard many Thai girls say they prefer sex with farangs (not because of size) but care and attention to THEM I also went on to say that size of wallet is the prime factor for Thais in any walk of life
