His has over the years been a member of many political parties such as the National Development Party, Thai Rak Thai Party and as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party.[3] You can see that he has all the medical skills necessary to be Minister of Health, so he knows better than all of you why to wear a mask.???? Popular Post Rancid
This is very bizarre, but perhaps just an honest outburst of how the current government actually does feel about "farangs". The way the visas have been tightened, the 24 hour tracking, the signs of being unwelcome have been there for a while. Most of the badly fitting masks people wear are all but useless, I bought some proper fitting N95s but for the disgusting Thai air pollution. The jury is still out on how dangerous this virus will be, the media and governments all have so much conflicting information, wherein lies the truth? We were meant to fly into Thailand next week but have cancelled. Not due to fear of catching the virus, but to worries of not being to get out again later, if Thailand does indeed follow China then travel from this country could also get banned. I simply base my actions on the massive lock-down in China, I seriously doubt this, with the massive economic damage they will suffer, would have been undertaken lightly.

Popular Post MaxYakov
Every resident of or visitor to Bangkok should be wearing at least an N95 respirator with a one-way exhale valve and have air purifier(s) in their residences. The focus has been taken off the pollution, which is rarely at an acceptable level by WHO standards/guidelines, and placed on the corona virus. The medical masks most people are wearing including the health minister and people around him in the OP image, are ineffective against both health threats, yet the government is pushing them. My estimate is that 90% of people on the street are wearing this type of mask. Edited February 8, 2020 by MaxYakov 2 1

Subin Boston
This man is facing his worst nightmare: there is a dearth of good information about the disease, and a lot of disinformation he is responsible for the well-being of his nation, and will be measured on how well he did He seems to believe that the masks, which are designed to keep sick people from spreading germs, will be effective in reducing infection from someone else's germs. Western authorities advise that washing hands is useful, but these masks are not. He claims masks are being handed out, but I have yet to see any of that, perhaps because I am not in a tourist area. I can understand an outburst like this when provoked by the big worry he faces, but as an official, he should be more balanced to be effective in his job. Meanwhile, Thailand's number of cases remains at 25, most of whom were Chinese, and a few Thais, but no others, so his anger with farang is misplaced. Kicking them out will not likely improve the disease numbers, but will hurt the economy even more. Popular Post MayPutThai
20 hours ago, Beggar said: This is correct. VERY many Farangs do not use a mask. Are they too stupid or immortal? And as hard as it might sound - such ignorant and naive tourists pose a danger to others in Thailand. My Dear, it could be that those Farang who don't wear that mask are a bit smarter than your Minister of Health in Thailand. What is his Education to qualify him for this position or was it just money? Checkout from which nation the infected people come from: China and Thailand. Any Farang here infected? No, only those from your very preferred tourist from China because they spend money. This is the only thing what most of you Thai see in Foreigners. Money Money Money, go and pick it up from the foreigners. This mask don't protect for the virus itself. It can't my dear because the virus are much smaller than the filter size. You will breathe in that after a while anyway! Therefore it is senseless to wear, you got it? The WHO , where Thailand also signed to follow, recommend to wear mask only if you are ill for what ever respiratory illness (cough, sniff etc) to avoid that you spill your infected drops around everywhere. Also on Handrails, Door or Elevator Knobs, whatever you touch in public. If you have the corona virus, I expect that you wouldn't run around but be under isolation at home or better hospital. It help much more to disinfect or at least wash your hands with soap more frequently over the day, especially if you walk outside. The better speech what this man could do to support shut down the corona virus were, telling the Immigration to push up the procedures at the Immigration Counters to faster. Why do I have to wait in a very dense mass of people for around a hour and finally must put my clean fingers on the dirty finger scanner? This is the most risk I have, to get infected from other people! The other point is that every year many tenth of thousand Thai people die because of lung cancer. Would you also sign that is only from the smoking Farang? In your eyes it has nothing to do with the millions of small waste burners behind every house where they burn plastic and other non biological stuff with a low temperature and produce the Dioxin all around? Google for Seveso desaster! Another point of health is your traffic in bigger towns. The millions of old cars which burn more motor oil than diesel due to not well maintained motors, because of no money. But it must be a 4 liter diesel pick up for the neighbors only to show! Your Government had done a first small step to clean the towns from the cars/pick ups/truck which has visible poison coming out from the exhauster. Does this mean, if you can't see something, it don't exist? That would be a typical but very stupid thinking of non educated Thai people. So, don't kick out the last friends of Thailand from Europe or US who support your very weak tourist industry by requesting silly things. My mom teaches me: Stupid and Proud grow from the same ground. Think about this. 1
