I've always maintained that the Thai superiority complex is born as a cover for their inferiority complex. Same as "little man syndrome" in the West.

Youd be surprised. A lot of guys up country live out in the villages. Set up nice homes. You dont see them in the cities too much and particularly in Pattaya. In any case, whatever this contribution might be wont be happening as it has in the future. Anyone remember the Phillipines back in the 70s 80s? It was the place to go. No one had hardly heard of Thailand. They adopted a similar arrogant attitude and lost the lot nearly overnight. Only starting to make a comeback now

I don’t disagree with you. But for every farang that lives upcountry and built a house for his wife/gf/partner, how many are living in rented accommodation in Bangkok, Pattaya, CM, HH?

Yep, you're back in that corner 555. The phrase " ai farang" was heard in the original video. His apology has not been shown. No doubt he used the word "farang" again but was sensitively translated to "foreigner".

Very, very few. IME such farangs tend to return to their own countries when not living in the house that they had built.
