Totally agree with you. Same with all the new visa requirements etc. Diplomacy normally dictates a reaction or similar conditions set for Thais in our countries. Our westetn embassies are useless

Most of the movie stars, soap stars, top models are Luk Krung and yet these two faced hypocritics look down their noses at foreigners....

Not the people. I love the people here. Correct. As much use as a chocolate teapot. They're much more interested in doing what they think will maintain their foothold on China's doorstep than encouraging reasonable behaviour. Thailand has played that card before. It worked once, it'll work twice - right?

Had the British Minister Of Health said anything like that he would have already been sacked.
In Thailand he's the leader of Bhumjaithai Party and important for holding the coalition government together so he can pretty much say what likes.
On top of that he is very popular amongst Thai's for his part in legalizing Medical Cannabis and making dangerous pesticides Illegal.
For this reason many Thai's will defend him.

I think you would find.... as they always have been, Westerners and western influences have been eyed as a threat by the elite here. I mean why would they want to change anything? The agenda here isn't to advance or improve the country or the lot of your average Thai. Maintain the status quo at all costs

It isn't going to improve, this is what Thailand accepts, so this is what Thailand deserves. I just wish there were some foreign journalists ready at hand to publicise this guy's behviour, but I guess that Thailand just isn't important enough.
