Yes it is compulsory for third party insurance, called por ror bor, it is a legal requirement for any vehicle or motorbike using the roads. Normally purchased when renewing your road tax, if you do not have it then you cannot tax your vehicle. However, we all know there are a lot of bikes & cars not taxed here. One question I can never get answered though, is if someone does not have a licence, and is involved in an accident that is not their fault, will the insurance pay out? -

I have heard similar stories from numerous Thai friends (including a couple of cases of female friends of friends who have engaged in this "game") - whose advice to me, "do not think of getting married, even to a well educated professional Thai". -

Even just normal fermentation of grape wine produces methanol but in such small quantity it is harmless. I guess improper distillation could concentrate methanol to dangerous levels. Well whether it was that or added - they do that I understand. It is terrible stuff. It shuts down the ATP producing Krebs Cycle at the last cytochrome series stage. Same as cyanide -
