Anyone researched this?  Isaan girl might feel right at home in Mexico.  I think if it is a no visa or easy visa, that should be considered.  Might be an interesting trip, to say the least.

Following because I want to take my gf too so that she can see that the beaches along the Mayan Riviera absolutely put Thai beaches to shame.

That’s gonna be one hell of a flight.

Have been 3 times with my wife, likely going again in 3 or 4 months as we'll be visiting the US then.  Always enjoy our trips there - have been to Baja, Oaxaca, and Mexico City.  Mexico will allow entry on a USA tourist visa for up to 6 months, which is what my wife uses when we go there.  Otherwise, Thais will need a visa in advance for Mexico, but I've no experience with that.

Without a US tourist visa (which my gf is unlikely to get), is she able to transit through LAX?  How hard is it to get a visa for Mexico?  I can’t imagine it would be that hard but it seems as if it is necessary to have an interview and present all the employment, proof of funds etc.

There are many video's on youtube from Mark Wiens who has a thai wife and baby, he brought them to mexico and made great streetfood video's..

Notice how clean and tidy mexico city is...and how clean the foodstalls...and safe the traffic....i expected it to be like BKK but it's far superior imo.

How dare you show that. Man I'm hungry. What I wouldn't give to be there now. How is it that for 20 baht they can make those tacos de canasta with that incredible salsa, and here in Bangkok the euphamistically named Mexican restaurants give you what is effectively cardboard and charge you 100 baht for the experience?

Shame on you for torturing us all with that video.

I wonder if that carnitas plate would hold a beer? I can imagine that with a Modelo...although the straw would be somewhat strange.

Looks like the process is similar to getting a us visa for a Thai tourist..but only 36 usd to apply.  If you can get a us visa, you don't need one, but if you can't get a Mexican visa, it would seem highly unlikely she would get a us...Might be quite a bit easier to use an agent for Mexico..as opposed to US.  On a bad day, the interviewer for Mexico could even be the same arrogant, rude, suggestive axhole that does them for the us.  Thanks for the links.

Just in case it helps:

If your girlfriend has a valid Schengen visa, she does not require a visa to visit Mexico if the purpose of her visit is tourism, studies or business. The duration of her stay cannot exceed 180 days.

If she does not have a US visitor visa (B) she has to apply for a Transit (C) visa.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/other-visa-categories/transit.html

If it is a connecting flight no.

Do you need a visa for a connecting flight in the USA?

In this case you don't need a visa but you do need a travel authorization (ESTA) even if you are only changing planes in the US without leaving the airport. ... So there is no difference between visiting the US for 90 days or just transiting, in both cases you need an ESTA.
