3 more days and India is also on that list

India started  with 3 cases of people who returned from china. They were treated and are well now.  There is a sudden increase of 27 more people. In which around 16 or so are Italian tourists. Others are people who recently returned from abroad and some human to human transmissions have also happened. All are being given best possible medical care.

Why on earth would you study in Iran of all places?

That's the first thought came in my mind when I heard there are students from my country as well currently studying in Iran but I think some or most of these students may be there for  some  religious course.

It's not exactly specified as to what they were studying there though.

Geography not one of your specialities? it gets cold in Egypt (19c at present) and parts of India have had unseasonably cool weather.

yes,

Agreed. 16 cases in India are italian tourists. other cases are in people who recently returned from italy dubai etc. some human to human transmission has occurred as well. The cities where in these cases are found have a temperature variance of 25° -15°. Its not very hot though as of now.

I am returning to the UK on Monday along with my Thai partner and son, will we the first Coronavirus people returning to the UK from Thailand ?

I returned back in early February. You may be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire coming back here. I think Thailand may be lucky due to hot weather, most cases seem to be people returning from abroad and cooler climates. In the UK we have very cold temperatures and it is only a matter of time before things turn into a nationwide mass outbreak here, cases are starting to mount at around a doubling every 2 days

1545 people are admitted in hospital and classified as PUI. So 1545 beds occupied for those.

The PUI number goes up every day and all they need to do it test them, to remove them from the Corona Virus PUI list.

But for some “strange” reason testing is so slow in Thailand, that this never happens.

It's the thai's magic touch.

It's a maelstrom. It's a kaleidoscope. It's Prayuth, it's the Watchman, it's the "health minister"... It's everything packed into one absolute mental bordello.

It's Thailand.

It's the country we hate and we love.

Dumb and illogical pezzonovantes!

29 year old Italian arrived on March 1st, and on March 2nd he was diagnosed with the virus?

Same with the 42 year old Thai man. It only took ONE day.

Really?!?!

How many PUI do we have in Thailand at the moment waiting to be tested?

Forget about it!!!

Detected on the 1st. Confirmed on the 2nd. What is so hard to understand?

It’s too <deleted> late....it’s here in Thailand big time I think

and the latest - human to animal

Hong Kong authorities have warned people to avoid kissing their pets, but also to not panic and abandon them after a dog repeatedly tested “weak positive” for coronavirus.

The Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said experts unanimously agreed the results suggested the dog had “a low-level of infection and it is likely to be a case of human-to-animal transmission”.

The Pomeranian’s owner was infected with Covid-19 but the dog itself was not showing symptoms, authorities said.

Closing the border will not work IMHO and would be more damaging to the economy.  I have no doubt now that Thailand is only reporting traceable cases linked with foreigners who entered the country, local transmission is not though I have no doubt they are doing the tracing and 'quarantining' while 'under investigation' but not adding it to the confirmed cases.   The government would see no benefit in being completely transparent and only serves to damage the tourism business etc.

And yet other all knowing non corrupted governments with highly qualified specialists ( who presumably can see through BS) advising them have not seen the the need to neither put Thailand on a no entry list nor banned travel to. Maybe they actually know more about the real situation than the forum members.

Some European news quote Telegraph quoting a scientist in China that there are now type L and type S of COVID19 and that recovering from one doesn't make you immune to other. The new type is a lot more aggressive than the older strain.

Wow did your geography degree provide you with the ability to google 'parts of countries'?

relevant to the outbreaks:

cairo high today 83F/28C

jaipur high today 79F/26C

not exactly 'cool weather'

Not exactly hot either. 26C and I'm looking for a jumper.
