BREAKING: Italy Announces Quarantine Affecting Quarter of Population (AP) khaosodenglish.com/n

i hope everyone is getting the message to stock up on food and water .

everyone should decide where you want to spend the next six months.

good luck.

There is no way that Thailand can enforce anything approaching a similar lockdown. People here need to be out on the street every single day just to get enough to live on. A China or even Italian style quarantine would cause social upheaval beyond imagination in this country. My guess is that everything will be handled softly, with staggered shutdowns of schools and businesses, unofficially extending Songkran, and all sorts of social messaging to try and shame people into staying home.

They are more effective in testing. Seems the backlog figure for pending tests in Thailand is back in their reports, 1500plus was it?

I study at a university in Bangkok with Chinese students.  They are allowed to come and go whenever they want but when they return they have to stay 14 days in ''the hotel'' alone.  All their food is done via food panda / grab.

The university has no rules about masks or hand washing.  About 95 percent of the students don't wear a mask.

I'm amazed they still want to go back to China for the holidays.  They could stay here and experience Songkran for the first time.

Wuhan was closed off on January 24th and Hubei province on 26th.

44 and 42 days ago. So what is your point?

Welcome back, Traubert.  We haven’t heard from you lately.  So what’s your take on the real situation in Hubei?  Does your government really tell us the true numbers?

Even with the 14th 15th century Black Plague which started in China and spread to northern Italy,

(what a coincidence) they shut down the ports (shipping) as it was the main means of spreading the virus. That plague stayed around up until the present when it can still be found in some parts of the world. Why don't the governments shut down the airports and shipping or have full testing of staff and passengers for the virus?

Just like during the plague the Chinese authorities are welding doors shut to apartment buildings and letting the virus do its terrible work. We have not evolved since the 15th century.

Wow, amazing.

I guess this is why immigration are so paranoid - they think we're all doing the same as they (Thais) do all around the world.

Paranoid? Are they though?

They must be daft to think that. The Thais going to Korea they do it for money ,they can make Many times more money than in Los. Not to many western people come to Thailand to make Big money.

Agree. Strange that a country like Australia with no land borders with other countries and stopped flights from China and Sth K etc has far more cases that Thailand. One state NSW with a population of under 8mill has 38 cases presently.

Guess Tai figures of confirmed cases proves they are doing an extraordinary job or more likely unbelievable job.

If you don't test people then no need to lie with numbers yet so many have died from pneumonia

Why is no one talking about the culprit - 5G:

The importance of viewing the coronavirus COVID-19 as a “Telephone Disease” is that by doing so it explains some perplexing mysteries about the spread of this disease—such as why this disease has struck the Gulf nations and monarchies in the Persian Gulf region, but becomes explainable when one notices their ongoing 5G revolution—most particularly in Iran, where this country is completely blanketed to its smallest village with 4G technology coverage—but who are now putting the finishing touches on rolling out 5G technology throughout their entire nation in the coming weeks—finishing touches that included Iran activating their Chinese bought 5G technology for testing—that was immediately met by Iran having more coronavirus cases and deaths of any nation outside of China—and whose Vice President is one of seven of their top government officials now infected.

But is it Huawei 5G?

Search underway for 80 escaping Thai workers returning from South Korea

Authorities are searching for about 80 Thais who arrived, in a group of 200 on four flights, at Suvarnabhumi international airport yesterday after returning from working illegally in South Korea. They managed to escape from a restricted area as they were about to be escorted to Sattahip naval base for COVID-19 screening prior to being quarantined.

You are joking surely? The tourism ministry was recently saying everything would be ok because domestic tourists would take up the slack from absent foreign tourists. Pattaya is declaring itself a covid free zone. Not a single foreigner will believe that, but the average issan farmer, they just might.

far from lockdowns, parts of the government are still trying to get people to move around via domestic tourism.
