The temperature in Lopburi province touched 40 degrees Celsius today (March 10), hitting people and animals, especially monkeys living near the San Phra Kan Shrine in Muang district.

Some monkeys managed to hide in pole heads on the shrine’s fences, while others loved jumping from trees and fences into a well provided for them, creating a funny spectacle for visitors to the shrine.

Lopburi is one of Thailand’s oldest cities and home to spectacular ruins such as King Narai’s Palace and Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat. Also, the abundance of monkeys in several areas have become one of the province’s main attractions.
