Popular Post Airalee
Make the choice of where you want to be stranded. My flights were cancelled but even if they weren’t, I’d prefer to be stranded here vs. back in the US.
Popular Post KhunBENQ
I live here, I stay here and have discarded any potential travel plans. Annual visitors starting to cancel their travel plans this year (as far as June/July). You didn't say whether you live here on long term (extension)? Of course a risk that you might be trapped at home country and have to start all over. 1 hour ago, parafareno said: I used bravofly.com to book my ticket.....and now my booking is even gone from their website...it is a big mess... Popular Post NCC1701A
as i said two weeks ago everyone needed to decide where you want to be for the next six months. i have been staying home here in Hua Hin except for large grocery shopping. going straight to what is needed in the store then out and straight back home. mask, hand sanitizer, social distancing. even in public staying as far away as possible from other people. if you are over 60, living in Thailand you should starting thinking about what you are going to do when you get the virus. and don't say "go to the hospital." and while i understand the Philippines are not Thailand, just look at what is happening there to see the possible next step in Thailand. Popular Post ThailandRyan
When I decided to move to Thailand, it was for not only the weather, but the food, and cost of living compared to California. Have sold off all in California except one retirement home in a Del Webb Community used as my fall back location and currently reside in by my elderly mother. Praying she survives this issue, but at 93 she says she has already lived a productive life... Staying put know, trip for June to see a graduation has been scrapped, unless a miracle occurs. 10

Popular Post 4MyEgo
Had a mate go to Bangkok recently with girlfriend and kid for a short holiday, he asked me beforehand if he should and I said, not me, anyways, he got back, has the sniffles, as has the girlfriend and the kid has a bout of bronchitis he suspects, so they are going to the doctor today, so catching up before he heads off back to the home country is out of the question, see yah next time around, maybe ? With the school holidays now, we are going nowhere, everybody is staying home, kids/teenagers know only mum and dad go out when necessary to buy grocery items, front gate is locked and no one come within coo-ee. We are stocked up, but with hungry kids, meats only last so long (two fridges), so maybe every week 10 days we will venture out, as NCC said, with what appears to be a white G-string left behind by one of his short-timers over his face being used as a face mask (breath deep, deeper), will venture in and out to do our grocery shopping, getting exactly what we want as opposed to me hanging around and looking at the eye-candy, iPhone on video for watching later ???? Wife has gone into serious mode with her family who live up the road, i.e. if you are going to be with crowds and take your kids with you, don't come around here, all scratching their heads, what's with her....lol Edited March 15, 2020 by 4MyEgo

RichardColeman
I have to return to the UK for medical reasons in June , but have currently nowhere to stay - I tend to only go back for about 48 hours and return usually, so it was never an issue before. However, I fear I will not be let back into Thailand. Currently I am planning with the wife what's the littlest she needs to survive with the baby and find some bed and breakfast for 6 months up north of UK until it gets less silly with Thai immigration who may come up with some new daft demand. I am also talking to couriers to see if I can can some UK medication send here instead of returning, though hard as I cannot do paperwork from here. Problem will be if they closed the UK airports stranding people all over the world. I would hope that the UK government agree to return all people from abroad before closing an airport. I read today EVA air will be cutting back flight to Europe now due to demand, so there is another avenue closing for some of us

Popular Post Saltire
I have a ticket with British Airways end May for a trip home to Scotland, but I am waiting on BA to give me options. If they offer a cost free flight change or refund I will take one or the other. If they don't I will contact them a month before I go for options. I'd prefer to be trapped here (home) than in Scotland (cold). I for sure feel less at risk here in my small village, apart from the many now jobless returning youth, there is minimal interaction with 'outsiders'. Shop once a month to Makro/BigC is the biggest risk for me, but if I forego 'luxury items', I feel we are pretty well self-sufficient here. Time will tell. Will also not be going on my annual break to Cambodia, that can wait too.
Bluetongue
Well had a trip to Aus planned on 17 April, with a side trip to US for two weeks, then back here in July. US is cancelled, I've not decided what to do with 17 April but I reckon that will probably be taken out of my hands, flights will be cancelled, borders closed etc. To make today worse, the missus just received some notice on her phone, haven't translated it yet but she said, "you cannot go". Anyway have lots of rice, dog food, getting some more water storage will have to hunker down here
