Phatthalung: Dozens of shots fired at house after argument over motorbike accident

Police in Phatthalung in Thailand's far south were called after a war weapon was used to fire on a house in Muang district. 

 

La-iat, 69, was in the house when shots rang out around 2 am Wednesday morning. 

 

Police found evidence of 22 rounds from an M16 and eight rounds from a 9 mm gun. 

 

No one was injured in the shooting.

 

Police suspect there were three shooters. 

 

The motive for the attack is believed to stem from a collision between two motorbikes at the end of the soi earlier. The 39 year old son of the householder had urged those involved in the accident to wait for police and an argument had ensued. 

 

Threats were made to kill the son whose involvement in the incident as a good Samaritan was unwelcome, reported Naew Na.

They do seem to have brittle fragile egos. When it goes tits up here with the virus spreading  God help us all.  ..  so many guns.

To be fair, an M-16 is hardly meant for scaring crows away from a field.

 

 

Not sure about you, but where we grew up we only used M-16s for massacring rival neighbors, people that overtook us in a car, or the family of ex-girlfriends.

This should be a reminder to all these good samaritans never to interfere in any dispute. It doesn't matters if this is an accident or domestic violence.

Just stay back and mind your own business.

no police we are all drunk and stuff we don't want them to find

Exactly, and it should have been described as such in the article. My argument was about the choice of words ???? 

Maybe they should ban motorbikes, not M16s.

In Thailand... Calling the police does not mean they will come, period.

This is Thailand, try to remember it is not at all like most of our home

countries.
