Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan-o-cha, has appealed to all people in the country, especially in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, to avoid travelling to other provinces during the Covid-19 outbreak.

This is one of the best ways to stop Covid-19 from spreading, according to Government Spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat

Hanging out, partying or even eating at a restaurant should be avoided. People should bring the food home instead and follow the guidelines that the government has announced to stop the risk of the virus spreading, Narumon said.

They'd better tell this restaurant to close then, surely?

That will stop anyway sooner than later. The "chivid sanook" will soon be over. Sad most Thais will realize it when it`s too late and then panic about how to get money for food/daily expenses.

in other news foreigners are advised to travel to their home consulates in bangkok and then return to their provinces in order to extend their visas.

mixed messages much?

It´s really sad when a PM´s job is telling something that should be obvious for all people. Unfortunately it´s not even obvious to himself. So, after his recommendation, he had to listen 3 times more to himself to understand what he just recommended.

But he finished a puzzle- on the cover was for four year olds- in only three days. He's special.

Yessir. Be warned. They're coming with all machinerie.

I sincerely hope they're not travelling back up to Isan that way...

There seems to be disbelief and shock in the air now. The hot weather didn't save Thailand, nor did their superior immune system or divine amulets. Next step is usually panic. I've already gathered my flock home and prepared for the inevitable.

Well observed Doc' .. If the disease multiplication pattern follows that of most of the countries with major outbreaks then there will be increasingly large numbers being added on a daily basis .. That is if the authorities are willing to face up ( 'scuse the pun ) to what is happening and present the situation as it is ..

She's got scary eyes that spokesperson bit like one 'o those humanoid woman robot things ..

Might well be one so I'm keeping my distance ..

Most women are humanoid things imo. ????

Very smart blouse, though. Thais do have some cool silk tops.

I like that they have some kind of security rope so they don't fall on their back.

So after closing all the resorts amenities he expects people to stay in their rooms?

With Songkran holiday possibly being cancelled many Thais will take this opportunity to go home!

for when the announcement for every farang in need for a visa, to be extented AUTOMATICALLY instead of all this circus

or soon, you will need a hospital certificate of no Covid before they let you into immigration + the needed 100k US$ hospital insurance, to get the last of us OUT

Above all else, the single thing you should never, ever to with a Thai is put a microphone in their face and ask for a comment.

Not ever.

Hot weather will kill it...

If hot weather doesn't do the job, send for a hundred or so government members, hot air will kill it.

If that doesn't work, go home and don't travel.

If that doesn't work, travel back to your home province.

If that doesn't work. go down the wat for a nice few Pacowatos.

Is that doesn't work, stay the hell away from any and all Temples.

If that doesn't work dig out all the old amulets and start wearing them all. Heavier the better.

Try the local tarot reader or shaman.

It's enough to make you shake your head in wonderment.

Listen up folks: Wash your hands, Social distancing, Stay at home, stay clean - nothing else you can do will help.

All previous estimates as to how bad this is going to be went in the bin this morning. The die has been cast, TL is finished.

Enjoy.

Good God.

Interesting enough the same office instructed the closure of all entertainment places, bars, massage parlours, karaoke shops etc.
This, in turn, leaves hundreds of thousands of "service workers" out of a job, fired on the spot, no money and nothing.

Needless to say that these people do what they usually do in distress - they go home. Morchit and other bus stations will be busy with a pre-songkran avalanche of girls who want to return home = the best possible way to spread the virus all over the country.

Is there anybody in this circus with a whiff of common sense - honestly?
