Thai Consortium of Medical Schools says Thailand should go on lockdown to prevent 350,000 new coronavirus cases in next 30 days. Document obtained by OSINT HK.

Thank you for this Mr. Canuck.  Yes we are already on a "lockdown"

As a former scientist I understand risks.  As of today, this scenario is only one possibility.  No evidence that Thailand is experiencing exponential growth.

No evidence that any country will experience 350,000 cases.

China only had 81,000 cases after 2 months.

Flus have been the causes of death in large numbers since the 1950's

CV is more contagious, so is unknown how much extra culling it will cause

Be safe, wash your hands, and practice social distancing

The only fighting will be by desperate people who have had their income taken away from them for the foreseeable future.

2 weeks at least in the major cities for a significant amount of people + Songkran is cancelled.

These are huge avenues of revenue that have just disappeared.

Most people in Thailand are on the bones of their ârse when working full time and send a % of their income to families all around Thailand, especially Isaan.

Prey tell me who is going to feed them now?

Not seen anything from the govt yet!

Just a lot of hot air as usual from the usual morons who 'run' the country

Very true and sadly very likely to happen.

If there is one thing good I hope comes from this, it will be that the Thai people realise they cannot blindly follow their 'leaders' anymore and will in the future more wisely choose who they elect to govern - maybe.

Thailand’s former public health minister, Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, said Saturday that he expects the rate of new confirmed COVID-19 infections to spike in the next couple of days, before stabilizing and then reducing after a week, if all the preventive measures introduced are followed strictly and with the public’s full cooperation.

Sorry Dr Piyasakol you and the so-called “Team Thailand”, a grouping of Thailand’s top medical professionals ( oh the irony :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:) are going to be severly dissappointed. Ask real medical professionals from around the world. 3 to 6 months for Thailand.

Read it properly! He said they expect new cases to 'spike, stabilize and then reduce' after a week. He said nothing about when the infection would be finally over.

An unwarranted swipe at a long time professional who knows a lot more about this topic than you do.

As a scientist you believe China's figures? WOW

They're not "Leading the fight".

They're trailing along behind the front.

Every initiative they proudly announce is the answer to last months challenge.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's simple decree to his citizens - Stay at home next 15 days or stay in prison next 5 years!

I'm good if they include the tooth fairy and the easter bunny!

They wouldn't know how to put the taps on and put the plug in

And a lot less than Western professionals. It will not spike in a week and then reduce. Check out the graphs/statistics of other countries affected by Covid-19. Thailand is at the beginning of the upward trajectory, not the end.

Just another Thai nomark so called expert trying to make a name for himself.

It's meaningless spin intended to reassure the punters that the government is in charge. It's like "free" advice - worth exactly what you pay

Indeed. Free advice, and worth every penny of the cost.

No exponential growth in CV cases!

More evidence of exponential rise.

“If Team Thailand cannot do the job, no other medical personnel will be able to do it either,” said the minister.

Only appointed cronies have the abilities.   If others could, would they be allowed to?

If Team Thailand fail, they can ask the CCP to roll in and takeover

another 188 today, phase 3

Even if it jumps to 15,000 people, with a 2% death rate, that is insignificant in the realm of dangers and habits here in Thailand that end peoples life on a daily basis.

I just wish I could get myself a cheap ventilator on Alibaba or Lazada  5555

It is rising exponentially. This is just the start.

Maybe, only time will tell on this.

We have probably had several 'superspreader events' over the last few weeks due to government inaction, these have now stopped.

France government ordered 250 million masks, meanwhile Thailand is still struggling for months without masks.
