Hi all.

As I understand it, the ANZAC Memorial Day activities in Kanchanaburi on April 25 have been cancelled for this year due to the COVID-19 virus situation. I anticipate that there will be a few folks that show up anyway. I am contemplating riding my motorcycle down from Chiang Mai to spend the day in remembrance of those that died there.

I'm curious if anyone knows of a place to stay that has parking for a motorcycle. Doesn't need to be covered parking - thought that would be nice - as long as it is secure. Also doesn't need to be directly in town since I will have transportation. Any suggestions appreciated.

What a great idea, to make a complete unnecessary road trip while there is a pandemic.

Hard to get much more social distance than riding solo on a motorcycle.

If the situation changes, Pong Phen Guest House. By the river, cheap,  pool, good food and right near the evening bars etc. Know a few biker boys who stay there when they come to town. ????????????????

... maybe arrange a few little plastic Airfix soldiers ... like a Nativity scene ?

Made in China - an ironic unfortunate twist of coincidence...

In reality; the only plastic we had at Cenotaph Duty,

were our Steyr (we called them plastic) rifles

You will be staying somewhere right?

Here's the deal: It is admirable that you care and wish to pay your respects. Show that they did not die in vain by staying alive to be there next year. Stay at home.

yep, thought so ... Kraut sort of weapon ... no match for the good old .303 ... now that was a solid piece of work ... what's the little p.s thing there in front? short for some of them great long German words i expect. Had a P. S. Something-or-other in my regiment. He never amounted to much either.

flash suppressor, although what came out of there is pretty much nothing, compare to the L1A1 7.62mm (approx a .308)

The only positive things about the Steyr?

- perfectly simple parade salutation actions for Cenotaph use!

- extremely more accurate target results compared to the L1A1

- very light to handle, but the smaller calibre made it as useless as the M16

You are driving alone on the motorway and your bike doesn't need petrol?
