Visa Agent

Featured Replies

The renewal of my 1 year extension based on retirement is due 3rd May. I am booked to fly to Bangkok to get my proof of income letter at the Canadian Embassy. With all this hysteria over Covid 19, I want to have alternatives in case I won't be able to travel to Bangkok or if the Embassy closes. I do not want to fly back to Canada. My life is here with my Thai same-sex spouse. We were married in Canada, but that is not recognised here. Could someone please pm me the name of a visa agent here in CR. Thank you.

Did you contact the Canadian embassy, and asked whether in the present circumstances they would be inclined to mail the income letter to you?

No PMs, so it looks like there are no visa agents here in Chiang Rai.

In another thread I read that Canadian citizens need to write the letter with their details and reason they cannot exit the country themselves, and can e-mail that letter (preferably in PDF-format) to the Canadian embassy, who will stamp it with the embassy seal and send it back to you (not sure if this is by e-mail or by regular mail).

Great news. I can get my letter by mail, just heard from the Embassy. Panic over.

Thanks for the heads up, it should help your countrymen in the region.
