Mini-video: Phuket Designates Seven Major Locations For People To Throw Water

In an attempt to prevent road accidents that may be caused by throwing water during the Songkran Festival, the Phuket authority have come up with locations designated for people who wish to enjoy the water throwing. Seven main venues are set for the celebrations. They are Saphan Hin, Rawai, Kata, Karon, Nai Yang, Surin and Patong beach areas. People can also play water throwing at temples after they make merit. The Phuket Cultural Office also seeks cooperation from residents and Thais to follow traditional practices of the Songkran essence and celebrate the Songkran in a polite manner.
